First of all, I need to admit myself that I’m a big fan of Yamaha motorbikes. I don’t even remember when it occurred to me but suddenly I decided that I will ride only Yamaha bikes. I do have a Yamaha Rx135. I don’t drive it much now-a-days but I made it a point that I won’t drive any other bikes either.
If you are bike enthusiast, the most talked about bike (of course just among the lean biking community in India) is Yamaha YZF-R15. First of all, as the Yamaha India website says that it has a DNA from the famous Yamaha R1 bikes. Yamaha R1 in India is just not affordable (The price tag is INR1,050,000 which is about $27630) for the working class people in India. Why Yamaha R1 is costing so much in India? Well thats another story and most probably you will know about it.
Right, back to the point. So whats special about Yamaha YZF-15. The catchy thing about R15 is the styling and it is much similar to R1. The specification is also too good for a 150CC bike but mind you the final specification is not out. As ever there is much hype on this bike. If you want to have a look at the rough specification go here. Alternatively you can have a look at the specification which I captured during my visit to the auto expo.
The first time I saw that at the 9th Auto Expo, New Delhi it got into my shopping list (Please don’t tell my parents). So people lets see whether Yamaha India can bring the golden times of Rx100 back to India. It is expected in June. I’m waiting for it with my fingers crossed. What about you??

specification of this bike has been officailly released as I have seen a double page article in Hindustan Times Newspaper..showing the big king and all the rocking specifications..and this bike will be soon on the indian roads to beat every bike..whether its pulsar or karizma or any indian version of sports bike..this bike has internationally accepted sports bike looks not like pulsar 220..bajaj even dint know wht they wanted to make..anyways yamaha is wht i have been waiting for and this bike serves all the purpose and thirst of bike riders..they must launch a bike with 250CC to cover the whole market..anyways i m waiting for the bike..bye. bye..

Thing I read about Yamaha YZF-R15 today
Iam a big fan of yamaha ,waiting for YZF-R15 to release.
first it was tvs taurus .. then they said its fazer 250 now yamaha R15……… nottin comming out on road dude all fake.
i like this latest launch from yamaha. it attracts by according to its design and style as well as by features of its. i like to get this bike, but i don’t have much economical balance to buy this bike. if any contest to win it free, i will play for that.

the bike is supurb from the front and is pretty cool too, but its not same from the rear. but overal its a mast and bindaas package. n im waiting for it.
Everything is good aboout the R15 but only one thing that is ugly is the tyres. The tyres are too thin, some say it resembles that of a Bajaj Discover…yucks!!!….They should have added a more fatter tyre whch wud look damn good.and one more thing is, if they cud use a rear exhaust near the tail light, it wud be a true super bike…dev.

When will it come to the show rooms? and What is the price?
I have purchase the byke on June 30th 2008 and today ie. 11th July I have drove 2000 kms on my R15.
Sure it wll not give u an impression that as soon as u’ll hit the throttle it will fly, but you can really feel it when u’ll ride, its not only about the speed I am 29 today and since 18 years I am riding bykes.
Its the best of all the rx100’s ybx, unicorns, pulsars that I have driven, not coz of its style and looks but coz of its amazing controls and the stability it provides when u have to apply brakes at a speed of 100 km/hr, in you complete cycle of your motorbyke’ u’ll hardly take any of them over 120 no matter its R1 or CBR.
Its the stabily that matters,
I drove it straight from lucknow to delhi in a go. thats the real thing, any other bajajs, tvs and rest of other yamaha’s will cease in 250 kms of continuous drive.
And paying 85 for pulsar 220 which has the same primitive technology, with illogically designed looks, its better to spend more.

Its 1 lakh 3 thousand on road in delhi. and around 97 thousand ex-showroom all over india..
The Government of Nepal really sucks very much bcoz the price of any goods gets Double than it’s real price due to the taxes.So the cost of the R15 bike has been very very expensive in Nepal and the cost of yamaha R15 also very high.
Hey yamaha Company why don’t take of some of CC of out the bike and reduce price of the bike.
